THis is not the original post I had up.  I have been asked to take it down, however there is still a handful of this post that is relevant and I spent a ton of time on it...So I am leaving it up. Oh My goodness it has been a WEEK since I last posted and I am sorry.  NO excuses...but here is one...I am in three grad courses right now and trying to get everything ready for my room.  I have been totally busy over on Instagram.   Click here to follow me!!!!!!  Tomorrow I have a really good post coming with a linky (seriously google, figure out that linky is a word and quit changing it back to link!!!), mega pictures of projects, and a post about word problems with math!  Stay Tuned!!!! Want to win this: I got the idea from Erica Cerwin at PinkBuckaroo Designs  you know you saw it on Pinterest and kind of wanted to do it!!!  Don't lie!  I made these for the fourth graders that I did my student teaching with last year.  They lov...

Excited!

Image
Oh my god I am so happy that I checked my calendar today!  I thought I had two events at one time.  Turns out I do not. But I do have one really cool one that I am super excited about.  WHAT!  Yes that is right, real people, real cocktails, real teachers! Woo Hoo!!!!!! IF you ever visit Minneapolis I highly suggest Brit's Pub.  They have lawn bowling!!!!! I am so excited to meet these women and pick their brains I can not stand it!  I will be sure to take loads of pictures and post first thing tomorrow. Also this week I completed (well I have to write the final lesson plan(a graphing lesson using the sea turtle's migration-will post for free!) and research paper(on I have no idea what)) a grad class called Turtles Of The World.  I quite literally spend three days at the Como Zoo in St. Paul, learning about Chelonians, or turtles, tortoises, and terrapins.  IT was a really interesting class I am going to share with you some of...

Teacher Tour Tuesday!

Image
Hey there!  I have been super busy with a class that I am taking for my grad studies called Turtles of the World.  When I get home from class today I will be posting about some of the awesome Chelonians that I have met over the last few days. In the mean time...Have you checked out Kimberlee at I Teach 5th's new linky?  (PS when will blogger recognize linky as a word?) I am in love with this idea.  Every Tuesday you give a mini video clip of a tour of your room.  Come school start up you will have a whole tour of your room!!!!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Well I wanted to join the band wagon but do not have access to my class till August so I thought I would share another tool that I learned about in my teacher prep program.  Classroom Architect This program is a simple to use (keep this in mind) little online program that allows you the ability to map out your classroom.  Because it is so simple though, you can not use ANY angl...

End of the Year Gifts?

Ok.  I saw a post at Teaching My Friends  about the crazy cute gifts she made for some of her students.  She, like me, does not get the pleasure of only having 20-35 kids, but wanted to get something special. Last year was my first year teaching.  Even though it was not a full year I will remember each and every one of the 120 students I had last year.  Thier first names, last names, living situations, and if they knew thier multiplication tables or not.  It was a very personal year for me.   I may not have meant as much to them, but they sure meant a whole lot to me and I wanted to get them something for a summer gift. However, like I said, I had 120 students.  This is what I came up with! For some reason I only have this picture on instagram.  I can not find it anywhere. Anyhoooooo.  It was pretty easy to make.  I had found Kool-Aid on sale at Target in April for $.50 for 20 packs.  That is like 2 cents ...

Free "Awkward" Font

Image
I know that SOMEONE has a Monday Made it but I can't remember it!!!!  Darn.   This weekend was crazy busy and I have a grad class today "Turtles of the World" so more pictures will come later today for sure!!!!! But I wanted to post my very first font.  And let you download it if you chose to!  OK it has some issues.  The main one being that the g and the y get a little cut off.  The second being that it is a little wonky.  I am going to make another, but, will make sure I stay in the lines and try to make it a little more straight.  I made it because I wanted to make my own super cute signature at the end of every post.  It turned into this 4 hour ordeal and well...I am still proud of it in it's awkwardness.  But if you do not mind a crazy little handwriting font.  Here you go.  Free.  That is write (see what I did there) free. SOOOOO go ahead and get your free Jameson Michelle Prototype font here . ...

Leaping Liebster Awards! I accept!!!!!!

Image
Shut the front door!  This morning when I checked out my e-mail I was both amazed and gratified to discover that I had just been awarded the Liebster Blog Award.   Jo Anne who blogs over at Teaching in Cardigans nominated my new blog and so did MS J at   Surviving Sixth Grade ! Both amazing teachers from the looks of it, and excellent bloggers on top of it! The main aim of the Liebster Blog award appears to be an attempt to offer public recognition to relatively new and unknown bloggers for their blogging. Personally I think this is a great idea, and not just because I have received the award! Over recent months I had noticed the Liebster badge on many of the blogs I visited, and I often wondered how I might get one of these pretty little badges for my then non existant blog.  And here it is, not once but twice in the same day! The "Rules" to Accept the Award :   •     Link back to the blog that nominated me (DONE) •   ...

Have You Heard About This?

I love beauty products.  I suck at using them.  My mother is a very plain woman.  I do not say that to put her down I say that so you can have a little backstory to where I am coming from here.  She has very fine very straight hair.  I do not.  I have no idea what to do with my hair 98% of the time.  It is long, it is curly, it is thick.  I have never been taught.  I straighten it almost EVERY day so that I can do something with it.  My mother does not wear make up (not sure if she ever has either, I have seen her highschool photos.) I wear some, and like to experiment with it.  But every time I experiment with it I end up looking like a clown. Sad, true, story. Any way.  I saw this and thought it was pretty cool as it is in my backyard almost, free, and you get to talk to someone. My typical beauty routine consists of this: Aveno Active Naturals Positively Ageless Moisturizer Rimmel BB Cream ELF Pink Passion B...
