HOLY COW I AM DOING THIS ON THE FIRST!
That HAS to be a new record for me.
LInking up with Oh Boy Fourth Grade!
LIstening. I am actually not listening to anything but my thoughts and the wind blow the thousands of leaves around our yard. Fall has hit us like a right sucker punch. One minute it was an indian summer and the next...below freezing and I need to get the North Face out. Not happy about this one folks.
Loving. I am having my first glass of wine since the Mid West Blogger Meet Up and it is GLORIOUS!
Thinking. I am knee deep in a unit on converting rational numbers. Fractions really suck. Actually I love them. But they really suck for kids. My hart is breaking as they are in 6th grade and I really am struggling thinking of yeat a 67th way of describing fractions to 11 year olds so they can manipulate and solve problems with them.
Wanting. Some skittles. But I gave them all away last night. SOMEHOW (eh hemmmm. Jacob.) we are out of skittles and only have Snickers left. I am alergic to snickers. Eff.
Needing. This weekend is almost over. I am no where near ready. Jake's little brother's birthday is tomorrow (he is turning 10) and yea. Wednesday I get to go to Nashville though for the AMLE conference! SO EXCITED!
Reading. NOthing. I finished my book. I do not even know what I want to start next.
Recomendations encouraged!
Cheers.
I'm with you on the weather! Crazy!

I have lots of skittles left. Regular and sour. I'm not sure where my NF is currently...see what I did there?

Thriving in 3rd
We had the craziest spring storm here the other day - Like it's been warm and sunny, and then out of NO where, crazy thunder and lightning that seriously shook the house. Woke me up twice that night!
ReplyDeleteI hope your winter is nicer than it was last year!
Ps now you have me wanting snickers and skittles...

Learning to be awesome
My fifthies struggle with fractions, too. It's a hard concept, especially when you get to multiplying and dividing them! My heart breaks for the ones that really, really try and are always just a bit behind. :(

Caffeine and Lesson Plans
We used the same font on our Currently. {Font snobs lol}
ReplyDeleteThe weather here in Florida is cozy too...and a gazillion degrees warmer than MN...but still cool for us! I would absolutely love to hear leaves rustling right now!

Creativity to the Core
I'm not sure which sounds better... the wine or the Skittles! I guess I've had plenty of fun-sized candy, so I'd have to go with the glass of wine! Have fun in Nashville- hopefully it will be warmer down there. I'm not loving this weather, either!
ReplyDeleteMmmm...I love Skittles! We gave out that same candy! Although my husband picked out most of the Snickers to save for himself. :) I hope that your weather gets a little warmer...any snow yet? We are working with fractions and decimals this next week. yuck.

Mixing it up in Middle
Fractions is a tricky concept I quite agree! Just been doing that with my year 4s (is that third grade, 8-9 years olds?) and we used a lot of practical equipment.
ReplyDeleteHope your glass of wine was nice!
Ugh I feel ya on the extra day of the weekend! I even had Friday off because of conferences last week and I am still not ready to go back.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a glass of wine will help! :) Thank goodness November is a shorter month!

Confessions of a Tiny Teacher
I'm trying hard to stay out of the candy reserves! I used to hate fractions for the kiddos when I taught 4th grade... teaching the basics to 1st graders isn't too bad. Hope the rest of your weekend is amazing!

Funky Fresh Firsties
I love your blog! I keep checking back everyday to see when we can sign up for slant box. I have never participated and would love to! Any idea when it might be posted?
ReplyDeleteHi Jameson! Cute blog! I embed fractions into EVERYTHING I can think of so I understand your frustration. IDK why it's so hard for students but it is!
