August currently!

Awe...,,. Here we go.....

Alright!
Listening: Boom Clap by Charli XCX I stinking love this song. I get it stuck in my head when I wake up in the morning!

And to top it off its in the sound track for Fault in our Stars!

Loving: this summer has really just flown by. It's hard to believe that this upcoming week I am don't with summers. I have SOOOOO many projects I need to finish this week!

Thinking: I am currently writing this blog post in my cell phone, and did the currently picture with the app A Beautiful Mess. I blog quite a bit on my phone actually but for some reason this was really tough.

Wanting: as I stated above I have a lot of projects to get done this week. One of the big ones is printing, laminating, cutting and adhering my new labels to my supply buckets!

I'm excited about them soooooo cute

I'm planning in getting these into my store tomorrow. What other themes would you like to see? I'm going to use my neon leopard print papers to make some but are there others?

Needing: indeed to start waking up at 430 to get into some habit. The only problem with any habit I get into is that pesky trip to Europe the week before school starts!

Ugh

Any resemblance of a sleeping pattern will be gone. Ick

1st days: I go back on the 11 to work in my classroom and set up the iPads. Students come back on September 2. Incidentally that is 12 hours after I get back from Europe. Not time for jet lag for this girl!

Hope you're august is great!

Cheers

  5. I'm with you on needing things to laminate, cut, and attach everything. Can I just wiggle my nose like Samantha on Bewitched and have it all happen for me?

Have so much fun in Europe! I'm so jealous!

  6. Love Boom Clap too! It's such feel good song. Major props to you for getting this done on your phone. I have a hard enough time getting it done on my laptop at times. Europe-I will have to vicariously live through you. I hope you will be posting photos!

  8. Could you make a polka dot version of your Sterilite template? My room is going to be a polka dot theme this year and I think that would be fun. If not, that's OK. :) I am jealous of all the time you get in your classroom before school starts. Do they fill it with meetings or do you get time to work? We have to go back 8 days early but it is so full of meetings that I end up having to work late hours to get everything done.

Creating Ratio Posters

This was a really fun project that I did with my 7th graders when we were working on ratios, Rates and proportions that I never got a chance to post this past year, and I will not be teaching 7th grade again! (sort of sad...but not really.)
To introduce the topic we started with a review of ratios.  Below you will find the worksheet that went along with the project.  You can see this student was using her worksheet to help her think of a topic idea!!  LOVE!

She also was not very careful with her worksheet.  Sorry for the wrinkles.  As you can see the students had to pick a topic, draw or represent (i told them they could use stickers or glue objects to their poster) 20 objects, then on a second sheet of paper complete 10 questions relating to ratios from their poster and reflect.  Here is what this student came up with!

Back To School First Day Activity Idea

Hi there!  I have been slacking on the blogging lately.  When summer started I was upset that I was not going to be teaching summer school, and that I had to drop out of Grad School for a while (Due to some REALLY ridiculous issues at a different school not allowing my transcripts to get set over...Long story really.), but I have actually been INCREDIBLY busy this whole summer.

I wanted to do a quick share for an activity that you can do on the first day of school and how I used it last year! (I wish I had pictures!!! That is going to be one of my goals this upcoming school year is to take more pictures in my room, of my products.  I think it is actually going to become a classroom job!!!)
So here it is I posted this last year about this time but it works so well.  I have it as a freebie in my TPT store. You can click the picture or HERE to download.
This is what I did last year and will do again this year on the first day of school.  I took pictures of all of my students on the fi…
