July Currently!

Oh I am so bad at linking up to these.  I woke up this morning with the intention of writing most of the post and then fixing the last one for what ever Farley did.  Turns out she posted it early due to some nasty house problems and I am STILL like number 100 to link up.

Better than last month just missing it completely.

How do you make sure that your blogs are on time and ready to go?  Do you plan out a few and post date them for later?

I would love to know!!

OK here it is.  If it is the first it means that it it time to link up with the fabulous Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade!  I love her.  She just seems like the type of girl I could get loud with, probably into trouble, and we would be wearing some ridiculous outfit.  Maybe some day.

OK July.  I am Currently:
Listening to Summer by Calvin Harris.  I fricken love this song.  I love to dance and this has one of the best beats to flail my arms and legs around in some form of rhythmic movement which I like to refer to as dancing.

Also They should have shown WAY more of Calvin and WAY less of the short shorts.  Just saying.

LOVING this new manicure I got for my friends wedding. It is so pretty. I usually have some super neon colors and LOTS AND LOTS of glitter.  Kirsten wanted us to have "neutral nails"  that means boring french manicure.

Jamo don't play like that.

This is what I came up with.

The picture doesn't do this baby justice.  It is soft baby pink with glitter on the tips and THE MOST PERFECT champagne glitter on my Johnny Depp Pointer finger.
SO dreamy.

Thinking about going to the Minneapolis Rose Gardens with my friend Zhenya for #tct (Twin Cities Travlin!)  I have to go do my hair after this!

Wanting picture frames for Photo Booth pictures.  At my friends wedding I did about 97 Photo Booth pictures (which I will post more later...)

I had so much fun at this wedding.  And I love props.  LOL.

NEEDING to organize this trip to Europe.  We have a wedding, a trip to Paris, Stonehenge supper with some folks that we met at my other friends wedding in Mexico, and

Harry Potter World.
So I really need to sit down and plan everything out... With cute fonts and multi colored markers.

Plans for the Fourth We are going up to the cabin like usual.  We split every other year with Jakes mom and dad.  This is a mom year.  This cabin will have about 85 people there.  Boats, sun, booze and soooooo much fun.

Happy July Y'all!

  1. I LOVE Summer by Calvin Harris! I can really dance to this one! ha ha Have a fantabulous day!

  2. WOW, a trip to Europe sounds fun! Good luck getting it organized with pretty fonts and markers.

  3. Harry Potter World? Think I can stow away in your suitcase?! :)

    1. Lady! I am so stinking excited for it!!!! We were looking at all you can do there last night.

  4. In real life I'm a planner. I like to know ahead of time what I am doing. But in the Blog World I'm a bit more 'fly by the seat of my pants'. I find it hard to write them ahead because what if something else happens that I want to tell you? I usually wait until I have something to say and then "Bam!" there it is. :-)

    1. Lisa, I have the hardest time with it! I am just like you! Sometimes I will get this hair up my butt to "start a post" and set it to post later...but most of the time it is..."OH I have this to say today!"

  5. I was just telling my parents last night that they need to invest in a little cabin in the lake so we can get fun water toys and play all summer long. They told me I could buy one myself, but they clearly haven't seen my bank account! lol

I LOVE your manicure! And I'm super impressed you did that yourself. I can't paint my right hand to save my life!

    1. I keep telling my friends that we should all go in on one together. Have like 4 couples in on it. I like having a parental cabin, but I can not have a girls weekend or anything like that with it.

So it is "worthless" to me. Just kidding I love going!

  6. A supper at Stonehenge sounds amazing! I'd love to do that! You have a lot of trips.. Are you going from one place to another.. or are these trips at different times? Your trips sound fun!

    1. Everyday, Different activity. We will be so tired when we come back and I have to have first day of school the day after we get back!!! ERP!

  7. I want to go to Harry Potter World so bad! hahah man you're rocking around the world aren't you?

Creating Ratio Posters

This was a really fun project that I did with my 7th graders when we were working on ratios, Rates and proportions that I never got a chance to post this past year, and I will not be teaching 7th grade again! (sort of sad...but not really.)
To introduce the topic we started with a review of ratios.  Below you will find the worksheet that went along with the project.  You can see this student was using her worksheet to help her think of a topic idea!!  LOVE!

She also was not very careful with her worksheet.  Sorry for the wrinkles.  As you can see the students had to pick a topic, draw or represent (i told them they could use stickers or glue objects to their poster) 20 objects, then on a second sheet of paper complete 10 questions relating to ratios from their poster and reflect.  Here is what this student came up with!

If you have had any questions about using art or projects in a math class here it is, Directly from the mouth (er, hand) of a student.  STUDENTS LOVE VISUAL PROJECTS …

Back To School First Day Activity Idea

Hi there!  I have been slacking on the blogging lately.  When summer started I was upset that I was not going to be teaching summer school, and that I had to drop out of Grad School for a while (Due to some REALLY ridiculous issues at a different school not allowing my transcripts to get set over...Long story really.), but I have actually been INCREDIBLY busy this whole summer.

I wanted to do a quick share for an activity that you can do on the first day of school and how I used it last year! (I wish I had pictures!!! That is going to be one of my goals this upcoming school year is to take more pictures in my room, of my products.  I think it is actually going to become a classroom job!!!)
So here it is I posted this last year about this time but it works so well.  I have it as a freebie in my TPT store. You can click the picture or HERE to download.
This is what I did last year and will do again this year on the first day of school.  I took pictures of all of my students on the fi…
