I bless the rains down in Africa

When I went to Africa Each and everyone of us had that song on our ipods!  What does AFRICA have to do with this post?   Well....Free stuff of course!

I saw a bunch of Pennent Banners floating around Instagram in the last few days so I decided to make some of my own.  Before I get to mine, which yes you can have, I want to show the ones I liked a lot on IG!

So then I decided to make my own.  I have a color theme.  I decided I did not want to do all animal print, or all chevron, or all anything.  I just wanted fun bright colors.  The colors I chose are blue (aqua), purple, orange, yellow, lime green, and hot pink. I also decided that my banners were going to be zebra print.  In order to do that I had to make some papers!  So today, you are going to get 16 brightly colored papers, a banner that is customizable (I will explain in a minute), 2 fonts, and a mega set of new doted circle labels! HOLY COW!

As always, they are free to use, but give credit where credit is due!  I am down for sharing as that is just how I am. I have said before I am a beg borrow and steal kind of teacher.  I can not afford the super cute stuff that is out there, so I make it myself, and am happy to share with people that are in the same boat.

Pennant Banner

Now I say that this is customizable.  You have four options here.  Print out one of the sets I have created (option 1-3) and just deal with it the way it is.  OR, option 4, you can download the pennants, and the circle frames and use the blank ones I have at end of the pennants to design your own.  I used the font Angus' Mystery Meat (below) so you can use that, or use a different one!  You are by no means limited!

I will also post a tutorial on how I string mine up tomorrow!

Circle Frames

This picture is hard to see but there are three different ones for each color.  There is a completely empty background where both the center and the dots are cut out, one where there is a white center but the dots are still cut out, and one where the dots and the center are white.  I hope that makes sense.

Well there you have it!!!  Like the samples at the grocery store these are all free. That means you can use these items for your own personal use or to make something to give as a gift!  Have fun!  I would love to see pictures if you use them!!!

Also please leave some comment love if you download them.  I worked hard on them and would love it if you could tell the world how much you love them!

Don't forget to vote for my puppy in a cute dog contest!  Consider it "payment" for the above holy hannah freebies :)

    1. Thank you! I just finished assembling mine and I am now welcoming the neighborhood to 6th grade math, as you can see the banner through our front window! It is hanging, proudly on my living room wall just as you walk in our front door!

Thanks for leaving some love about them!

    1. You are so welcome! I still have to get the fonts up, but for some reason it takes so much more effort with TTF's than ANY OTHER FILE!

I will let you know when those are up!

      :)

  4. Thank you so much for the freebies! Looking forward to using the circle frames in the classroom! :) Thinking of using the banner for my word wall! :) I was wondering if you have an idea as to what I could do with my word wall. I am going to be teaching in at least two rooms this year. I will be teaching 6th grade Science and Social Studies at a local middle school. I want to make a portable word wall that is easy to carry as well as add/remove words as I go through the units. Any ideas? Thanks so much!!!

    1. Hi Heather!
I do have a few ideas for you. Last year I was on a cart. Not going to lie it sucked. I was teaching math in science rooms and literature rooms. There was no room for me to put ANYTHING up. I did ask each teacher if it was ok for me to put up a small dry erase board/bulletin board that would stay in each room. They all said yes. I went to the good will and got 5 largish pictures and covered them with giant roll paper. I put strips of velcro down in 3 stripes. Then I would make 5 small sets of what ever I wanted to put on them, laminated it and attached the opposite side of the velcro to the "unit stuff." Everything just stuck to the velcro! You could do this or just have one that you cary with you.

I also had a poster board on the side of my cart. This covered the "shelves" of the cart. I attached a strip of velcro to the top of the poster board and a few more "stripes" horizontally down the poster. I could then velcro clothes pins with no names, extra credit or other things on it.

Sticky back Velcro was my life saver last year! Hope these two ideas help!

      Thanks for stoping by!

  5. Thanks Jameson!! I appreciate the prompt reply. Yeah, I was a teacher on wheels last year as well. I've been teaching for 11 years and this is the second time its happening. I don't mind it. It keeps me on my toes after teaching 11 years! ;)

Thanks for the ideas!! Do you by any chance have pictures of the two ideas you posted? Thanks so much! Love your site by the way. :-D

  6. I was just like you and saw bunting on Instagram. I was like shoot I can do this. So, my Bestie and I did a bunting party. lol. I have not added the lettering to my bunting yet in my room (still undecided on what to use) and love the idea of putting the letters in the circle. I think I might just do that. Thanks for giving them away!!! I have had several compliments from other teachers about my bunting. It is in my resource center. You can check it out on my blog.
