BUSY Busy busy.

Linking up with Run! Miss Nelson's Got The Camera!  For her Saturday Snap Shots!  I just found out about this link and what I posted earlier totally works!

I have one week left of summer.  Once August hits it is PD town, Grad Studies, Tech Organizing, LEGO League Prep and Opening Week. Holy Cow.  That is a lot!  I am freaking out a little bit.

A few posts a go I posted a list of things that I wanted to get done.  I have been working pretty hard (If you follow my Instagram you are probably aware of this fact),  Speaking of Instagram, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE FOLLOWED ME OVER!

Here are some of the pictures of things I made this week.  I am SO stinking excited to get them into my classroom I can not wait until August 12th!  That is when I can finally get into my classroom and start putting together all of the fun things that I have created, purchased, and drooled over!  Looking at other classrooms I have gotten some ideas of how I am going to change my arrangement a little bit.  I am going to move my desk flush against a wall and use the wall for a personal bulletin board.  I never sit in my desk as I teach, yet I have it set up so that when I am sitting at it I see the students.  It takes up learning space where it is and I think there is a more valuable location for it.

Here are some of the projects that I made and am excited to implement into my classroom.
First up, The NOISE behavior management plan:
Sorry my picture is so dark.  I was able to get into my classroom last week but there was no power. this was seeing what they would look like on the white board (which I found out is NOT very magnetic) with a flashlight.

I did this by taking the blank letters from Michaels and painting them with Martha Stewart all purpose paint first, then Martha Steward Glitter paint after.  I then superglued magnets to the back of them!  I also did some giant clothes pins in the same colors!
Next up my Sterlite Rolly Cart.  Now.  These are totally functionable and I use them to put daily supplies in so the supply getter goes and gets a drawer that has supplies already for them in it.  I have 6 tables this year and therefore 6 drawers with an extra drawer on the bottom for me or my hand outs.

I spray painted them.  Simple as that. The pink drawer was not dry yet, so I took the picture with out it. It is there now though :)

I have to say I love it!

Next we have my table caddies.  I had the plain primary ones last year.  They are nice but I wanted everything to match.  So I spray painted those too.

Then I saw Erica Bohrer's suped up caddies and had to copy.  Here are hers:
Don't you just love it!  So cute and it was super easy!  I got corresponding ribbons, created the round templates (FOUND HERE ---Don't forget to enter my contest for a giveaway.  It ends on Monday 10 am my time (central standard time)).  Laminated the labels, glued the ribbon then glued the labels down.   I used fabric, plastic, and vinyl glue to glue the ribbon to the caddy then hot glue for the label and the bow.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
Here is how mine turned out!

I am obsessed!  Sticking to the spraypainting theme.  I also spray painted some tiny tin pails to use for red pens for daily math review.  I lovingly call this DMR (I have a love hate relationship with it.  You will hear all about it in about a month and a half I am sure).  Here is how these cuties turned out:

This picture is terrible.  They are my colors.  I used a chalkboard label that I hoarded bought from Target and Michaels, and a white paint pen.  I added a few little dots around the label.  I am excited to use these per table.  Last year I had one with all my pens in it, one person went around and collected them.  I was CONSTANTLY buying new red pens.  I am hoping to just keep these cuties on the tables with the caddy and 5 pens in each bucket.  Hopefully this will eliminate the need to restock after EVERY class period.

I also spray painted some garbage cans so each table has a can.  Can you tell that it was once three pink cans, one green, and two blue cans?
I had individual cans last year which came in really handy when we were doing ISN (INTERACTIVE STUDENT NOTEBOOKS) last year.  THis way each table has a can rather than every child running to the ONE by the door.  I am debating on putting a ribbon around the top and a table number like on the caddies.

I also spray-painted some button magnets I got at Michaels to make my where am I board.

I cant find this picture anywhere so I had to pull from my instagram.
I put vinyl numbers on them and then sprayed them with a clear coat to keep the numbers on. For my board I found a flat cookie sheet at this weird little story by my house called DealSmart for 99 cents.  I got two. One for my where am I board and one for a parking lot and job list.  I finished my where am I board and this is what it looks like!
It actually did not have the ribbon or the colored paper on it before, but then I saw someone else's and it was so cute with the ribbon so I HAD to change mine.  I used polkadot washi tape and scrapbook paper.  I used spray adhesive to attach the paper to the pan. SO CUTE!  I haven't yet decided what I want the other one to look like.

Speaking of Paper and Spray-Paint. I got these Whole Brain Teaching Subway Art from The Tattooed Teacher.
Click the above link for instructions for download!
Went and got some blank frames at Michaels and popped those puppies in the frames.

Her design matched my colors so good.  I am not one for having pre set rules, but these are more "civics" than rules.  I will still have my students write a constitution at the beginning of the year. I have a frame that I am going to paint to put the constitution in after they have signed it and surround it with these subway art!

That is it for completed projects.  I have quite a few more that have been started but not completed (including the clipboards in the picture of my sterilite cart), a mailbox system (that I can't hardly keep a secret much longer) a "in this classroom" poster, my first day gift, crate chairs, and probably more.

Don't forget to register for my giveaway!  I am giving a way a completely customized set of first day gifts that will look similar to these:

    1. Thanks Tina!
I am moving from a co-ed classroom to ALL 6TH GRADE GIRLS! Our district is moving 6th into the middle school. So I really wanted these girls coming into my math class to feel loved, warm, and welcome. I chose these bright colors because I do not think they are ever going to not be "trendy" and when I land my dream job in k-3 someday it will be an easy transition with what I have!

Thanks for stoping by and leaving a comment. I love them!

  3. In LOVE with those button magnets...so super cute!~ Did you get the # stickers at Michaels, too? On my "to do" list right away.
Your projects are so cute. My whole room is chevron & dots, so I'm gonna be such a copy cat :)

    1. I did not. I got them at this weird little store by my house. I can stop and see if they have more...they were 75 cents for two sheets. Let me know if you can't find any by you and I will pick them up. I have 10 sheets of letters, so if you want to do a letter rather than a number I for sure can send you those. I was almost going to do that until I found these, because everywhere I looked I could only find letters.

  4. You have been so busy. I just love those colors and all of your creations. I need to spray paint but I'm horrible. I always have streaks and never let them dry all the way. Those clipboards are so stinking cute.
Thanks for linking up ... I'm so glad you did.

    1. Oh my goodness. I am a total rushed spray painter. I kept wanting to cover a new layer but my BF was like "DO you even know how to spray paint." I kept telling him you know he could maybe help me rather than watching some car show! He then said I was doing a fine job. Mine have some streaks, and some bubbles, here and there but I don't really care. lol

I am really excited to tell you about the clipboards and what I did to them! It saved me a load of money!

I had been following you on IG and just recently started to follow your blog, so I am glad that Amanda from My Shoe String Life was linking up with you. That is how I found out about your Linky.

      Thanks
